Abstract

CHERTS AND SUBMARINE SLUMPS IN THE LOWER KIMERIDGIAN LIMESTONES FROM THE VICINITY OF MAŁOGOSZCZ (CENTRAL POLAND)

Slump structures are reported from Upper Jurassic banded limestones in the Mieronice quarry in the SW Mesozoic margin of the Holy Cross Mts. Cherts have also been affected by slumping, hence they should be regarded as penecon-temporaneous forms. The banded limestones that overlie limestones containing the ammonite genus Pomerania have been referred to the lowermost Kimeridgian.
