Abstract

CHARACTERISTICS OF SEDIMENTATION OF THE LOWER CARBONIFEROUS IN THE VICINITY OF GŁUBCZYCE (EASTERN SUDETEN)

Deposits of the Lower Carboniferous belonging to the Silesia-Moravia Culm zone crop out in the vicinity of Głubczyce. The types of bedding cyclic sedimentation and sporadical occurrence of various casts and ripple marks, as well as the macro- and micro-disturbances of the beds are discusses. On the base of the writer's observations an attempt is made to interpret the conditions of sedimentation. The bottom beds are supposed to be shallow-water deposits while the top beds probably represent a facies intermediate between the shallow-water deposits and the typical Flysch facies.
