Abstract

ON THE LOWER CARBONIFEROUS OF THE INTRASUDETIC BASIN: PALEOCURRENTS AND THE PROVENANCE OF CLASTICS

The writer has made 650 measurements or cross-bedded units and 157 measurements of imbricate structures (of 20-50 flat roundstones in each structure) within sediments covering an area of 50 sq. km. in the terrestrial CuIm deposits of the Intrasudetic Basin. His observations of directional structures were supplemented by investigations of the petrographic composition of roundstones in conglomerates, and of the mineral composition of sandy deposits. A rough outline is given of the development of the sedimentary basin during the deposition of terrestrial sediments.
