Abstract
ON THE LOWER CARBONIFEROUS VOLCANISM OF THE lNTRASUDETlC BASIN: NEW DATA ABOUT ERUPTIVE AND PYROCLASTlC ROCKSThe writer reports that the so called "felsitic porphyries", occurring in the Culm between Stare Bogaczowice and Sady Górne, are not Upper Carboniferous or Lower Permian intrusive veins but lava-flows formed in result of Lower Carboniferous volcanism simultaneously with sedimentation of the Culm of Sady Górne. The lava-flows occur at least in two stratigraphic assemblages separated by sediments. The presence of pisolitic tuffs has been noted in the older volcanic assemblage. The petrographic characteristics of the lava-flows and the tuffs are here briefly described and a new nomenclature for extrusive rocks suggested.Downloads
