Abstract

Loess deposits at Oblęgorek near Kielce (Holy Cross Mts)

The loesses, occurring on eastern slopes of main elevations of the Oblęgorek hills in the Holy Cross Mts; exhibit distinct bipartity and represent a period of accumulation of the so-called younger loesses (Würm). They were deposited by westerly winds, whereas outcrops of Bunter sandstones, weathering in periglacial conditions, supplied an abundant amount of dust and were the main source of the loess material.
