Abstract

THE DOGGER IN THE VICINlTY OF PŁOCK (DZlERŻANOWO STRUCTURE)On data from six boreholes in the central portion of the marginal synclinorium, situated from 15 to 40 km SEE of Płock, a stratigraphic description is given of the Dogger in this region. The microfauna there provides evidence of the occurrence of Aalenian and Vesulian deposits and for the determination of lithostratigraphic boundaries between the Vesulian, Bathonian and Callovian. A detailed correlation of the deposits has suggested conclusions concerning the paleogeography, stratigraphy and sedimentation of the Dogger and the origin of the structure of Dzierżanowo here considered. Some suppositions are also drawn all regards prospecting for bitumens.
