Abstract

THE ORDOVlCIAN IN THE REGION OF KĘTRZYN (NE POLAND)On the basis of brachiopods, trilobites and conodonts the stratigraphy is here given of Ordovician deposits from five new boreholes drilled in the region of Kętrzyn by the Oil Industry at Piła. The occurrence has been observed there of nearly all the Ordovician stages from the Upper Tremadocian to the Ashgillian. Both, the fauna and the lithology of the Ordovician deposits in the region of Kętrzyn reliably indicate their connections with contemporaneous deposits of Scandinavia and of the north-western parts of the U.S.S.R.
