Abstract

CURVED FAULT STRIAE AND TBE MECHANISM OF FAULTlNG

On some slickensides in the klippen belt of Pieniny Mts. (Carpathians), abrupt turnings of fault striae have been observed. Probably, they are characteristic of the kIippen tectonics. The superposition of sets of fault striae as a criterion of relative chronology of fault movements has been questioned on these observations.
