Abstract

The geological structure of the Klimontów anticlinorium is composed of Lower Cambrian rocks and also of sands tones of hitherto uncertain age. On the basis of newly found fossils arid of lithological and structural criteria these sand-stones are assigned to the Middle Cambrian. The analysis of stratigraphy, lithology and tectonics of the Cambrian deposits in the Holy Cross Mts shows, contrary to previous opinions, that no orogenic phase was marked here at the Middle/Upper Cambrian boundary.
