Abstract

IMPORTANCE OF SIDE-CORINGS FOR STRATIGRAPHIC DIAGNOSIS

Micropaleontological examinations of samples collected by a core lifter from borehole Huta Szklana 1 proved to be as helpful in the age determination of a rock series as those based on samples from continuous coring. This may be of great importance in drilling operations for petroleum prospecting by partly eliminating continuing coring and thus reducing the costs of drilling and shorterning the drilling operation.
