ON THE PRESENCE OF LINGULA CREDNERI GEINITZ IN THE LOWER ZECHSTEIN DEPOSITS IN THE VICINITY OF OSTRÓW WlELKOPOLSKI

The Lower Zechstein deposits in the vicinity of Ostrów Wielkopolski have yieIded abundant remains of Lingula credneri Geinitz. Their presence reliably determines the age of the dolomitic sandstones occurring in the top of the Rothliegende sandstone series with reference to the definitions suggested by the German geologist the problem is also discussed of differentiatic the grey, the white and the basal sandstones of the Zechstein.
