Abstract

Occurrence forms and distribution of zinc-lead-iron ores in the ore-bearing dolomites of the Bytom syncline (Upper Silesia)

 Syngenetic and epigenetic rocks have been distinguished within the dolomitic-clayey complex of the Lower Muschelkalk in the Bytom syncline on the basis of geological and microscopic studies. Occurrence forms and distribution of ores in the ore-bearing dolomites of the Bytom syncline are characterized. Syngenetic ores (dispersed Fe sulphides) and epigenetic ones (Zn, Pb, Fe sulphides) occur in the dolomitic-clayey complex of the Lower Muschelkalk of the Bytom syncline. The existence of the latter sulphides is connected with a metasomatic activity of hydrothermal ore-bearing solutions.
